One of the most common questions photographers receive from their clients is what should I wear to a photo shoot?
To help everyone make the most of the shoot, here are my top tips as a stylist.
Firstly, keep it simple. ✨
Choose well fitted items in solid colours (consider incorporating your brand colours) 💫
The oversized items that are currently trending can add kgs rather than hide them (proceed with caution ⚠️)
Start a Pinterest board to share with your photographer. ✨
It’s very important to have a clear vision about what image you want to project during your photo shoot. 💫
Is your brand/business-
Modern and polished?
Sleek and sophisticated?
Casual and warm?
Fun and quirky?
Your outfits need to reflect your overall brand voice and aesthetic. ✨
Props- don’t forget to incorporate your ‘tools of trade’ and include you in action with them. 💫
The beautiful Corinne is an Integrative Health Coach and Mindfulness Teacher.
She wanted relaxed, smart, casual outfits for her photo shoot with Lanie Sims Photography.
The venue chosen was Rose Cottage Perth, which was the perfect bright, neutral, and warm backdrop for her brand image.
Corrine had a discovery call with me first to discuss her brand, style and vision for the shoot. Her brand colours were fresh orange, pink and green.
Her vision for the shoot was warm, relaxed and approachable but still polished.
In a 2 hour shop, we put together five outfits for the shoot (so she’ll have lots of variety for her images).
Everything from shoes to accessories and her props for the day was covered.
Corinne’s props & ‘tools of trade’ included a diary, coffee mug, fresh fruit, and veggies.
All the outfits we selected for her will be able to be worn beyond the shoot and take her into the next chapter of her business.
And lastly, there is nothing like having great outfits that you love to give you confidence and help you rock your photo shoot!!
